We do loads of other adventure activities throughout the year, so we provide you with a really full package, more than you’ll find with any of the other providers… and with a lot more edge.
As soon as you register with us, we send you an individual pack containing everything you need to plan and organise your expedition. From then on, we are right alongside you to make sure the whole thing comes together smoothly and successfully. All with our own expedition & adventure experience built-in.
For both practice and qualifying expeditions, we take a day before the expedition, with our instructors preparing you for your expedition. A detailed kit list, medical and emergency contact information and consent/booking forms will all be provided well in advance of the trip.

Rough Edge runs Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expeditions. Rough Edge holds AALA Licence number L11962/R1823 covering Kayaking, Open Canoeing including “sit-on-tops”, Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Hill Walking & Mountaineering. Details of this licence can be obtained from the Adventurous Activities Licensing Service on 029 2075 5715. Rough Edge policies including Emergency Plan, Risk Assessments, Health & Safety & Child Protection Policy are available on request. Rough Edge follows the Expedition Providers Association Standard for the Provision of Overseas Expeditions. Rough Edge works to BS8848. Rough Edge receives guidance and support from The Royal Geographical Society Expedition Unit, The National Mountain Sports Centre Plas y Brenin and the British Council.
